Henry Chester Letter The following letter has been copied from this year's Newsletter. We are displaying a copy of it, in order to help Henry with his quest for new members. If anyone is interested in more details, please contact us and we will be pleased to forward your address to Henry. Webmaster From: Henry Chester (1943 to 1951) Subject: "New members needed", etc. Hi Ron A joint session of the two groups was held in the convivial surroundings of the Red Lion, Fritham in the New Forest on 29 Sept 2010. Hampshire’s contingent included Ian Hamilton {Winchester} and Henry Chesters {New Milton}. Cambridge was represented by Eric Johnston {Melbourn}. Their wives also enjoyed good food and a modicum of liquid refreshment in very attractive surroundings. Ron Hughes had to extend his apologies this time. We are all from the 1940-50-ish vintage. Excuse the flowery language but we need to attract new members for our groups!! Meetings are ad hoc (i.e. when one of us gets round to it.) Visitors are also welcome but, PLEASE, no more caravans in the New Forest! !! (Eric’s a caravan man but he has some good points.) Best Wishes Henry Chesters (1943-51) |
