The Notable - Reg Bentham  -  1941 to 1946 

Gentlemen,

Here is an item, which appeared recently in the " Wel-e-News" - a website for Welbury, Nr. Northallerton - in regard to Reg Bentham (41/46), who was a contemporary and friend of mine at School.

Reg made me aware of the profile and I asked him to send a copy to me as I cannot access his local website. I thought it would be a good item to include under `Notables` in our COBA website. It is a bit like the Arnold Jones feature. Reg has cleared with the Editor of the Wel-e-News site for the COBA Website to use their item.

Reg appeared in the team photograph in the Soccer Centenary publication and was at the Centenary Dinner - at which his cups and medals were on display. As you may know, he was at the COBA Soccer Dinner held last month.

To me, this does seem worthy of inclusion.

P.S. We could add a footnote to this item, viz;-

Reg was at the Collegiate from 1941 to 1946 and during that time played for the Colts, Juniors and First Eleven teams. In his last few years at School, he played on Saturdays for the First Eleven in the morning and for the Old Boys` in the afternoon.

He has very many cups and medals, which were on display at the Centenary Dinner last year of the COBA Football Club.
