Dear David,
My cousin Williams Schumacker (date of birth 20/09/1949)
passed away from natural causes on 18/10/2024.
Whilst clearing out his house I came across several
copies of your magazine and so I assume he had an active subscription.
I am sure he would be pleased to have a mention in your
next issue regarding his passing.
I’d agree with you that he was a rather
eccentric guy and in later years somewhat of a conspiracy theorist.
I’d struggle to tell you much about his
life sadly as for the last 20 years he distanced himself from family
due to a fallout with his father following his mother’s death.
He also sent me postcards inserted in
envelopes usually commenting on Everton, Jeremy Corbyn or holidays
in Eastbourne. I would write back and kept him in the loop over
family matters. Which is probably why he put me as next of kin on
his NHS records.
I do think he would appreciate a mention
in the 2025 publication though. Maybe saying how he lived in London
for most of his working life pursuing a career in the care sector.
He was a staunch Evertonian and I was amazed to find copies of
letters he had sent to various EFC managers giving them his view on
what they were doing wrong. I was even more amazed that they
replied.
Regards
